Red Cross take part in Major Emergency ExerciseAirport Fire Service at Kerry International Airport complete a joint training exercise with Red Cross13/11/06 On Saturday the 11th of November, members of Kanturks' Red Cross took part in an training exercise with the Airport Fire Service in Kerry Airport. Our member took part with members from Tralee & Limerick Red Cross providing a turn out of a control unit, a 4x4 and 3 ambulances. With a scenario of an aircraft crash at Kerry airport members responded to the crash scene on the airport fire training area. On arrival to the scene members quickly responded to the causalities. Our members put all their knowledge & experiences to good use in insuring that the causalities were quickly treated and removed from the aircraft with the assistance of the Airport Fire Service. It was a very worth while exercise which gave both the Red Cross and Kerry Airport a chance to work together in a well organised training exercise. Our thanks to both Kerry Airport & Kerry Red Cross for the invitation to take part, and also to Kerry Airport for their hospitality on the day. Here are a few snaps taken at the exercise.
