Red Cross launch special handbook. The official launch of special handbook titled, "Helping You to Care" took place on Wednesday 25th March in Red Cross Headquarters in Merion Square in Dublin.
“Health Minister, Mary Harney (centre) joined the members of the Irish Red Cross team that produced the Helping You to Care Handbook, Lydia O’Halloran, Catherine Klmartin (both Dublin), Ellen Keane (Tipperary), Mary Rose Day (Cork) and Marie Harte (Galway. Ms Mary McAleese, President of Ireland and President of the Irish Red Cross applauded everyone who helped in the publication of the handbook, which she said would make a tangible contribution to the improvement of the lives of so many. “I am confident it will be an essential source of information and a major contribution to the work of carers for a long time to come,” President McAleese said in a message published in the handbook. Anyone who is in a caring role, or who has to care for themselves alone or without constant assistance, should get this book.
